About the artist

Sam’s work depicts the natural landscapes from which modern urban lifestyles are increasingly disconnected. Her work aims to share the positive power of nature on the human spirit and soul. She wants to reconnect us to nature and in turn promote us to conserve and respect the wilderness.

Driven by a lifelong passion for nature, she frequently travels to natural environments to inform her work, creating both in the studio and outdoors in the field.

Sam is an ambassador for the Wilderness Foundation UK and the Co-Founder of the Wilderness Art Collective.

You can find her on Instagram.

About the writer

Yvette Webster is from New Zealand but calls Scotland home. After researching her family history, she moved to Scotland to retrace their footsteps. She ended up hiking the length of the country, and is the first solo female to thru-hike the Scottish National Trail.

Writing is Yvette’s passion and she has previously won awards from her time working as a journalist. Her focus now is travel writing, and documenting her travels around Scotland on her blog, Wayfaring Kiwi. She lives in West Lothian with her husband and their Labrador, Angus.
